A Day in the Life of Lindsay Bennet-Guido

What Does a Typical Work Day Look Like for You?

I usually start my day by seeing if I have any client edits to take care of and knock those out.

Then, I’ll update GPTs and client packets if necessary. And then I’ll do my social media tasks. With social media, I usually plan posts a couple of weeks ahead. I’ll request specific graphics and make sure the posts are queued up and ready to go.

“I’ll spend the rest of the day writing. I usually try to get the easiest stuff done first. So those will be blogs and other things I feel pretty confident writing about. I’ll typically get those done first and try to build up my momentum to snowball into more difficult topics.”

What Do You Like Most About Your Work?

“I like learning new stuff every day. I feel like I’m always learning new things in the industries we work with. I know some people find mesothelioma, medical, or dental stuff boring, but I think it’s still interesting to learn new things about niche topics all the time.

“I feel like that’s probably how you maintain interest. You focus on how interesting something is — ‘Oh, this may help someone.’”

On the Flip Side, What Do You Feel is the Most Challenging About Your Work?

“I find that when you have a lot of similar topics all the time, it’s difficult to keep all those pages and blogs fresh. I feel like I’ve written the same page hundreds of times. But you have to find ways to keep it fresh and interesting and not stagnate in your writing.

“One thing I’m trying to do is avoid using the same words and phrases. I have some favorites that I pepper into everything. So I’m trying to break those habits and make sure everything’s fresh and interesting.”

What’s Your Ideal Saturday?

“I feel like I would sleep in; that’d be nice. I’d spend some time cuddling with Cheeto and then probably go to my favorite coffee shop. There’s a place nearby that has interesting drinks. They make hojicha lattes and sesame-flavored stuff, which I like. I’d spend some time there and work on my bullet journal. Then, I would play video games with my husband, and later, we’d go to karaoke in the evening. I like having some spice of life, but I also like chilling.”

What’s Something Not a Lot of People Know About You?

“Before I switched my major to history in college, I was in opera for a while. I was in choir all through high school and wanted to be a choir teacher. But to do that, you need to go through the music education path, including vocal opera studies.

“I never really wanted to be a performer, but I wanted to get better at singing to pursue that education path.”

Where Do You See Yourself in the Future?

“Well, I’d like to get out of Texas. That’s a goal for my husband and I. We might like to go to California, Virginia, or somewhere else. And then maybe start a family.

“Professionally, I just want to keep growing in my role. I want to keep improving in my writing. I would love to be in a position here to mentor other writers. I feel like that would be cool .”
